The Little King

The little king saw the light of day in March 1998. Graphic designer and director Hedwig Munck is the creator and thought: "The time was simply right for a male hero". This one is an only child, the centre of the world, curious, playful and also a bit in need of recognition. The little king struggles with himself and with the everyday idiosyncrasies that should not only be familiar to kings. The stories are turbulent, loving, funny, unusually different, simply royally drawn and told. The little monarch and his friends are absolute favourites of all Sandmann viewers. Hans Jochen Menzel, who gave the characters (his) unmistakable voice, also has a share in this. The little princess is spoken by Ilona Schulz, who also sings the songs of the little king. The animated series was produced by Imediat GbR, Berlin, on behalf of RBB.
