Telerural

It started as a small feature on RTP's morning program Praça da Alegria, but the characters quickly gained notoriety and after some time they emerged with the program under its own name and in prime time on RTP. Telerural is a perfect satire on the world of news, entirely set in the fictional village of Curral de Moinas. Starred by Pedro Alves (Zeca Estacionâncio) and João Paulo Rodrigues (Quim Roscas), they were already known to the Portuguese through several CDs and DVDs of sleazy jokes and through the lines on Rádio Nova Era or Best Rock. This was perhaps the most ambitious project they starred in on TV and which catapulted them to stardom and the making of the film 7 Pecados Rurais, entirely in the famous village. Complete series available now on the RTP Archive website in its two seasons so that it can be enjoyed for posterity.
