In the 1940s, rural towns in Mexico find renewed life through the annual "palenques" fair, where streets come alive with music, games, and celebration. Gallo de Oro unfolds the story of Dionisio Pizon, an introverted "gallero" marked by the fear of physical contact stemming from the trauma of his abusive father's death. A twist of fate transforms him into a successful cockfighter, leading him to encounter “La Caponera”, a palenque singer. La Caponera yearns for freedom and equality, but her family's traditions confine women to bringing fortune to the men who accompany them, not themselves. In the heart of Mexico's bustling festivals, their fervent love story blossoms as they venture from town to town.
