Unternehmen Barbarossa
On June 22, 1941, Hitler's Wehrmacht invaded the Soviet Union. More than 3 million soldiers cross borders without declaring war. The attack was carefully planned under the code name “Barbarossa.” For Hitler, the campaign was also a battle between two worldviews. At the end of 1941, rain and snow stopped the advance. Even a new offensive in 1942 did not produce any resounding success.
