The Guardians of the Great Barrier Reef

The Guardians of the Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is one of the seven natural wonders of the world and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Like all coral reefs, it forms a unique ecosystem whose biodiversity is essential for the balance of the oceans - the other lungs of the planet. But today it is in danger due to global warming. A team of dedicated Australian scientists are doing everything they can to save this natural paradise. The challenge is huge and time is of the essence. Whales, whale sharks and giant manta rays are equipped with tracking transmitters. These are designed to help locate the deep currents that nourish and temper the coral reef. The sea giants are crazy about the plankton that the current carries with them.
