When the young II. András ascends the throne, he has to face not only the Kuns invading Transylvania from the east and the approaching Muslim influence, but also the lords lurking in the Court. His wife and love, Gertrúd from Merán, with the help of her family and in the alliance with the church, at the head of her faithful Servian warriors, throws herself into the fight for the further rise of the Kingdom of Hungary, from the altars of churches, through the halls of ornate palaces to faraway Jerusalem.
