At the entrance to a small quiet town, the body of a teenager Alik is found. Not far away in a ravine is the car of a certain Shatsky who was driving from St. Petersburg. The original version of an accident is swept aside when water is found in the victim's lungs. But if he was killed, then who? The young investigator Anna suspects a stranger, her boss Mikhail Sergeevich believes that the killer is one of her own. In the course of the investigation, to which, wishing to justify himself, Shatsky also joins, it turns out that many in this town had motives for the murder.
