The Sparkle of Lapland gold
Directed by Åke Lindman, the drama series depicts the great gold rush of the Ivalonjoki River in the late 1860s during the famine years. People leave for Lapland in the hope of a better life, but also driven by adventure and greed for money. Conditions in the north are harsh. Gold diggers Jakob Ervast and Nils Lepistö manage to find gold, but Kittilä's crown planting will immediately start looking for a place to dig. The series is largely based on true events.
