The German Question

Shows how the world splits into two power blocks. The interface of the Cold War lies in the middle of Germany. Two opposing ideologies now determine life in East and West. Six modules show the different political and economic developments in the two German states: In the GDR, socialism is built up and the building of the wall continues to isolate itself. The FRG experiences an economic miracle and argues about rearming. In addition, we deal with social upheavals and the questions: How is the legacy of the Nazi past dealt with? Another focal point is the opposition in the GDR, which we talk about in an exciting and authentic way through interviews with civil rights activists and former opposition activists.
