Vera - The Sicilian's wife

In Germany in the 1960s, young Vera falls in love with the charming Sicilian Gaetano. Despite the hostility and prejudice she is exposed to because of her relationship with the "Itaker", Vera holds on to her great love. But she soon gets to know Gaetano's darker side. He gambled away all of Vera's savings and took a job in the nightclub of his seedy compatriot Toni. The biggest shock awaits Vera on her wedding day: During the celebrations, Gaetano is arrested on suspicion of murder. After his acquittal, the young couple decided to start a new life in Sicily
