Port Hunger

Port Hunger

In 1584, a handful of men, women and children, came from distant lands to populate the current Chilean Patagonia, commissioned by the Spanish Crown. The ship that brings them promises to return soon with supplies ... but this never happens. Abandoned in the confines of the new world, they barely built the "King Don Felipe city", in the current Strait of Magellan. For three years, hunger, disease, the ferocity of nature, the disagreement with the Aonikenk world and the internal power struggles caused death, one by one, to this group of 200 people, only one man, Tomé Hernández. , manages to escape and narrates - years later - this dramatic odyssey of the town that now calls Puerto Hambre, where the worst and the best of the human being emerged, as a valuable testimony about the dawn of Chile.
