Through The Daring Heart of Central Asia

Through The Daring Heart of Central Asia

Follows the people of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. It is the region that is considered to be the heart of the legendary Silk Road. What is left of the myths and legends of the old Silk Road, which had its centers here in the caravanserais of Bukhara and Samarkand, among others? How and on what do people live today? How is your everyday life between nomadic existence, oil and gas drilling rigs, silk production, secluded high mountain valleys, tradition and modernity, between cultural monuments that are thousands of years old? There are prefabricated housing estates built in the Soviet style and modern cities, bazaars, huge cotton fields, the almost dried up Aral Sea, high-tech industry, Koran schools and politically partly autocratic states like Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
