1960. Laurent Luissac gives up an early career in journalism to do his military service in Algeria. There, he crosses paths with soldiers, called up from the contingent, harkis and blackfoot whose motivations are radically different. Through his love-passion for Evelyne, a young Blackfoot woman, he will discover a torn Algeria.
