Viennese waters

In three parts, "Viennese waters" tells the story of the rivers that have shaped Vienna: the Wien River, the Danube Canal and the Old Danube. Once wild forces of nature, now urban lifelines, they reflect the city's transformation between regulation and freedom, benefit and threat. The documentary follows their course through history and the present, showing floods and recovery, industry and idyll – and asks how Vienna lives with its rivers, tames them and rediscovers them. Three waters, three characters, one city.
