History of madness
From lumps to lobotomy, from malaria flies to insulin shocks! On the stages of Finnish psychiatry it takes the viewer to the difficult questions about the diseases of the mind and the forms of treatment that have been used to help in different eras. The story travels from hysteria to psychosurgery and isolation to outpatient care, and reflects on, among other things, the union of creativity and madness, as well as diseases of different times, even trends. Tommi Hakko and Riika Nikkarinen, editors of the History of Madness series, received 12 September. 2012 State Disclosure Award.
