Make it to the Moon

Make it to the Moon

MAKE IT TO THE MOON travels back to the 1960’s, where President John F. Kennedy has challenged his nation to land humans on the moon by the end of the decade. The Grumman Aircraft Corporation is designing the first-ever lunar lander, and MIT is building an autonomous navigational device and shrinking a computer the size of a semi-trailer to one-cubic foot so it can fit onboard the space shuttle. Meanwhile, the International Latex Company, known for its Playtex bras and girdles, is busy stitching a new kind of space suit by hand, and Australia’s Honeysuckle Creek Tracking Station is preparing to track NASA’s astronauts on their 386,000 kilometre voyage to the moon. Combining archival footage and in-depth interviews with experts and former crew members, MAKE IT TO THE MOON provides a first-hand view of the momumental challenges each team overcame to realize humankind’s greatest achievement.
