Exploring the Deserts of the Earth

Exploring the Deserts of the Earth follows two filmmakers as they set out to explore all the world's deserts on motorbike. The 900-day trek takes Michael Martin and Elke Wallner from Munich to the Arabian deserts, to Asia and Australia, then to South and North America and finally Africa. The film includes their adventures and experiences as well as the unique cultures they find along the way. They spend time with Bedouins, Aussie cattle ranchers and Navajo horse breeders. They also visit some of the more urban oases such as Las Vegas and Dubai's Burj Al Arab hotel. The film also includes the filmmakers' crossing of the China-Pakistan border on September 11, 2001. America's national parks are also visited including Death Valley and the Canyonlands. The breathtaking scenery coupled with the enormity of this ambitious and epic road trip ensures that this film is essential viewing for desert enthusiasts, off-roaders and adventurers!
