Counts: The Origin of Catalonia

The call for sovereignty dates back to the 9th century, the beginning of a crucial period in our history that now comes to television with "Comtes," a docuseries that tells the story of the process undertaken by the first Catalan counts to achieve independence from the Carolingian Empire. With a script by writer and anthropologist Albert Sánchez Piñol and under the direction of Carles Porta, the production reconstructs, with meticulous historical rigor, the reigns of four counts who succeeded one another chronologically: Wilfred the Hairy, Guifré Borrell, Sunyer I, and Borrell II.
