Viola Delbrück flees from her husband, her parents and her old life in Hamburg. She wants to start all over in Görlitz, Germany's easternmost city. Burkhard Schulz, who is only called “Butsch” by everyone, is a solitary warrior and flees from any kind of change. He has already had a long life full of disappointing love and shattered hopes.
