Born In The Wrong Body
We Danes consider ourselves open, tolerant and liberal. But in the midst of all our prejudice, we have overlooked what we might call "the last great taboo." For the group of Danes who feel born as the wrong sex in the wrong body - the transgender people - it is difficult to find support and acceptance. Both among the population and in the public system. And this despite the fact that the world's very first gender reassignment operation was performed at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen in 1952.
