The Works (2012)

The Works is RTÉ Television’s new weekly Arts magazine programme airing on RTÉ One on Thursday nights at 10.45pm. Presenter John Kelly will be joined by a new team of reporters, Sinead Gleeson, Nadine O’Regan and Kevin Gildea as they present the Arts in all their diversity in this magazine programme that aims to cover the Arts in an offbeat, challenging and agenda-setting way. Moving away from the studio-based format of The View this new magazine programme will look at the Arts in an irreverent and accessible way, while getting out and about around the country where people are making art in all its forms, including music, film, theatre, books and painting. The Works will look at the process behind the scenes in the making of a creative piece, in the artist’s studio, in the writer’s den, on the film set or in the rehearsal rooms, as well as featuring regular music and opinion pieces in studio. The programme will also be previewing and reviewing events, and will give viewers a great Thursday night preview on what to catch in their free time at the weekend.
