The Wine Programme

World's first TV series on wine, written and presented by Jancis Robinson. It first appeared in 1983 on Channel 4. The second series aired in 1985, then the third in 1986 and then the fourth and final in 1987. Each series consisted of three episodes. The first series covered "wine Basics," the second series covered "The Vintner's Art," and the third series covered "Champagne to Sherry", and the final series covered "The future of Wine." It was rendered onto VHS in 1999 as "Understanding Wine" with a truncated DVD release of the same name.
