Trolderik prepares for Christmas in his cave in the woods with the worm Lafaytte, who lives in an apple on his desk, and the old gnawed Tiptroldeolde, which hangs like a picture on the wall. Every day he sings the Calendar song, where he counts the days until Christmas Eve. In his magic crystal ball, he follows the story of Santa Claus David, who lives with his wife Lisa in a tree. They help the forest animals when they get hurt, and travel around the world, to visit the many different goblins found in other countries. However, David and Lisa also spend a lot of time fighting against their enemies, the trolls, who often try to capture them.
