The Early Spring

The "Early Spring" campaign begins in 1914 in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The Polish Baryk family lives in this cosmopolitan city: engineer Seweryn, his wife Jadwiga and son Cezara. The boy is in love with Ormianka Aida, has many friends of different nationalities and leads the life of a normal teenager. After the outbreak of World War I, family life turns upside down. My father goes to the front and the city is taken over by the Bolsheviks. Jadwiga, sentenced to hard work, dies in a short time. Meanwhile, the Bolsheviks massacre the Jewish and Armenian inhabitants of Baku. Cezary, who miraculously meets his father in this turmoil, returns with him to Poland. When the head of the family dies, the boy has to rely only on himself. He reaches Warsaw, where he finds Szymon Gajowiec, a friend of the family.
