Árásin á Goðafoss
A highly acclaimed documentary about the Icelandic freighter which was sunk by a German submarine in 1944. This is the story of crew and passengers of the freighter Godafoss on its last voyage as a part of a convoy, travelling from New York via Britain to Iceland during the Second World War. It is also the story of the German U-boat crew which sunk the ship just before it reached home. 42 people died in the attack. Many people saw the ship go down close to land but no one has been able to find it for the last 60 years!
