"I wasn't chosen by anyone, and hence I remain alone"... these are the words of 32-year old schoolteacher, Hara Takako. Having gone through failed relationships before, Takako has resigned herself to a life of loneliness. Until one day, a new teacher shows up at the all-girls' school that she teaches at. Notwithstanding the 7 years gap in their ages, Takako finds herself falling for the younger Ozu Koutarou. However, Ozu is already affianced! Add into that complicated love triangle, Takako's ex-married lover, Kurosawa, and it all becomes one big pot of confusion...
