The Archaeologists

The Archaeologists

Arne Hjeltnes takes us on a journey through time and space together with the archaeologist Frode Iversen. We meet the people who work with excavations in Norway, Sweden and Denmark on a daily basis, and we visit some of Scandinavia's most important archaeological sites. Unique world-class finds such as the Swedish Vasa ship and the Norwegian Gokstad ship have contributed to our knowledge of antiquity, but even simple cooking pits give archaeologists valuable information about how life used to be. Archaeological finds also inspire our own contemporary culture. The standard for wireless communication, Bluetooth, has been named after the Danish king Harald Bluetooth. In eight programs, we follow Arne and Frode's archaeological journey of discovery.
