The Rocky Mountains

The Rocky Mountains are a very special mountain range. Here the rainwater divides towards the Atlantic and towards the Pacific. For the settler movement from the east, the Rockies were the last big bottleneck before reaching their destination in the west. And only when the Rockies were fully developed by the railroad did one of the last blank spots on the American map disappear. A three-part report by Klaus Bednarz, Fritz Pleitgen and Gerd Ruge.
