The Pacific Ring of Fire

A journey around the Pacific Ring of Fire - to where the earth does not rest - is an adventurous undertaking, a kind of time travel to the beginnings of our planet. The geologically most active zone on earth stretches almost 40,000 kilometres around the Pacific Ocean, from Alaska to South America and from New Zealand to the Russian peninsula of Kamchatka. The film teams accompany scientists who are exploring the world of volcanoes with state-of-the-art technology and visit people who live along the Pacific Ring of Fire in the shadow of dangerous volcanoes.
