Little Man - Now What?

Johannes Pinneberg and Emma Mörschel, called Lämmchen, are a young couple in Germany at the time of the global economic crisis. When they find out that Lammchen is expecting a child, they get married and look forward to their future together - despite the little money they have to live on - with hope. Pinneberg soon became unemployed. The two young people happily accept his mother Mia Pinneberg's offer to move to Berlin with her, where there is work. Through the relationships of Mia's partner Holger Jachmann, Johannes actually got a job as a salesman in the Mandel department store. Pinneberg is absorbed in his work and befriends the halibut seller, whom he admires. But even here the low salary is hardly enough.
