Produced for Channel Four immediately after the death of Bob Marley, writer-director Howard Johnson's mammoth, six-part documentary opus Deep Roots Music traces the extended history of reggae, with extremely rare, period archival footage of the musicians who catalyzed the early development of Jamaican music before it became an international sensation. Johnson also features exclusive interviews with numerous reggaegiants, as well as musicologists and music historians.
