The Auxiliary Prison of Leuven

Filmed in the Auxiliary Prison in Leuven. At the beginning of 2009, some prisoners attended a theater workshop. The improvisations and rehearsals were filmed within the prison walls for three months, culminating in the final public performance. But Leuven Hulp is so much more than that. For three months, the prison management gave exclusive and full access to life within the penal institution. For three months, the detainees Nico, Bogdan, Dilges, Christos, Peter, Antonio and Ali were filmed, often day and night. Also in the cells, in which they are locked up for 22 hours a day.
